There are always some pre-awards-show showcases for the Sacramento Music Awards (Sammies). One such show is happening June 7 at the Press Club in midtown. One of the artists is TAIS. This show will mark TAIS’ first solo performance in Sacramento since his nearly fatal car accident in February when he was hit by a drunk driver.

Also nominated with his group Righteous Movement for Outstanding Hip-Hop Group, will be performing the exclusive set with special guest drummer, Adam Saake, and fellow Sammie nominee DJ Rockbottom (Outstanding Turntablist) on Sunday, June 7th 2009 at the Press Club in Downtown Sacramento. TAIS says the show will be dedicated to the fans who nominated him as Outstanding Emcee.

“I wanted to give the people that nominated me something new that will show the range as a performer,” TAIS said. “People expect a lot from me, and I want to make sure I’m exceeding those expectations.”

Each year, the Sacramento News & Review (SN&R) hold the Sammies to honor local musicians making significant strides in their genres. Nominees for the award are chosen by residents in Sacramento and its surrounding areas. After the nomination period, the SN&R hosts exclusive showcases for the musicians to display their talent.
