Like classic rock? Well, maybe sometimes? We saw Stonekold over the weekend at Crawdad’s Cantina. The band was talented, the songs, well, it depends on what you like. I wouldn’t care if I never heard Lynyrd Skynyrd again. But other cover songs (Stones, Creedence, etc) fared much better and all the musicians played and sang well. Overall, it was a fun evening! Except…

The venue, Crawdad’s, is another story. Frankly, it was awful and I hope to stay far away from there when it comes to music. They took away all the chairs when the music started and put all the tables by the wall. So, if you wanted to watch the 3-4 hours that the band played, you had to stand up the whole time. What a stupid way to present music. They claimed that it was to free up the dance floor but rarely were there more than a half dozen people dancing and there was still plenty of room for quite a few tables and chairs. No wonder few people stayed for very long.

So, YES to Stonekold if you like classic rock and NO to Crawdad’s if you like watching live music. See your favorite bands somewhere else.
