This tour and show are solo efforts, but it’s all in support of the E.P. they’re releasing in late August. In case you didn’t know, The Echo Wall is a DC-based indie Americana folk band. This show will be September 7th at 8:00 PM at The Coffee Garden, 2904 Franklin Blvd. in Sacramento.
About The Echo Wall:
The Echo Wall is a DC-area indie folk band whose sound is both rustic and lush, with a strong sense of melody and no small amount of twang. It began in November 2009 as an experiment in simplicity and an exploration into Shannon’s growing appreciation of Americana. The first songs (among them “Imogene” and “The Only Thing”) were quiet and slow meditations with gracefully minimal chord changes. As more songs were written, though, and as other members joined — old bandmates Nina and Hallsi and new friends Mike and Audrey — the music began to occupy a wider spectrum of mood and feel; “Uncanny Valley” swings and “At Your Door” could even be described as rollicking, and “The Places You Call Home” borders on chamber pop. Still, a consistent and engaging wistfulness runs through all of the writing, brought to life by jangly guitar, soaring violin lines, evocative organ, sparkling glockenspiel, ethereal harmonies, and bass lines that are alternately propulsive and brooding.
