As we mentioned before, the annual Friday night Concerts in the Park at Cesar Chavez Park are happening again this year. The free shows will run May 7th through August 13th, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In other words, they start this Friday!!

This week has Kepi Ghoulie, The Kelps, Dog Party, and more, so come out and enjoy. More info about the concerts and the complete schedule here.

It’s a benefit concert for the Christmas In The Village 2010 Tree Lighting at the Fair Oaks Veteran’s Memorial Amphitheater. Acts include Les La Tour and the Cradle of Sound (Jazz), The Pyronauts (Surf), and Caligator (Southern Sounds/California Cool). Sacramento semi-legend Sal Valentino first found fame as the singer and main man in the 60s band The Beau Brummels (Laugh Laugh, Just A Little) and also the cult favorite Stoneground. Now he is performing as a singer-songwriter. As for Ricky Berger, she is one of Sacramento’s unique women singer to blend pop, country, jazz, and her own charismatic style. To complete the evening, Sal and Ricky will join forces for a medley of duets that span countless generations across the entire musical spectrum. This vocal pairing combines all of the essential ingredients for a perfect evening: experience, new vision, the joy of timeless songs, and of course the lush strings directed by local Sacramento icon, David Houston.

Every year, local singer-songwriter Autumn Sky throws a Valentine’s shindig, and this year is no different. She will be playing a show with Tre Burt at Yogurtagogo on 17th and L on the second saturday of the month (the 13th,) a day before the holiday.

As she says “The show starts at 7pm, will have no cover, is all ages, and will be hosted at a place that serves sweet treats. What’s not to love?”
