The Bumptet – CD Release Shows

Who is The Bumptet? The band includes players from Izabella, Jackie Green Band, and Global Funk Council, and they are releasing their self-titled debut LP. Upcoming album release shows are as follows:

4/15 Sacramento, Ca at Marilyn’s on K 9:30PM $8

Introducing a brand spanking new musical project that brings together some fabulous California players. This versatile trio, The Bumptet, is throwing down improvisational funk and fusion for three nights in April in celebration of their debut album release.

The Bumptet, featuring Sean Lehe, (Izabella), Jonathan Stoyanoff, (Johnny A., Global Funk Council), and Zack Bowden, (Jackie Greene, Chingus), bring a reckless sophistication to each performance with their improvisational approach to music. The Bumptet is a must-see live band. Music fans of any genre will truly appreciate the level of soulful musicianship shown when this trio comes together on stage. Think Medeski Martin, Wood and Scofield, Soulive, Steve Kimock, and Garaj Mahal all rolled up into a hot pocket. The self-titled debut The Bumptet will drop on April 14th, 2011.

New Years Eve And More With Izabella

Izabella is gearing up for two nights of high-energy rock and soul grooves. They’ll be playing on Dec. 30th in Nevada City at Cooper’s Ale Works and then on Dec. 31st (New Years Eve) at Marilyn’s here in Sacramento. The New Years Eve gig will be $15 Advance and $20 Door.

Izabella has been an area mainstay since their inception. Over the last 5 years the band has grown tremendously, evident in their evolved live performances. No longer a blooming band, Izabella has truly blossomed, gaining the respect of West Coast musicians and critics alike. Their fluid blending of rock-inspired guitar and soul-driven keys breathes new life into both genres “Izabella is a continually evolving Northern California unit that oozes positivity anchored to serious chops and strong songwriting. Archetypically ‘jam band’ in nature, they encompass soul, rock, pop, and jazz as if all lived happily in one big bed.” –Jambase

Izabella has performed well over 250 gigs, including some key performances at summer festivals: High Sierra, 4 Peaks, Las Tortugas, Summer Meltdown, Oregon County Fair, and Bobolink. This solid tour schedule combined with an elevated level of stage and light production has helped Izabella garner various accolades, including the Jambands.com title, “New Groove of the Month” back in August 2008. In 2009, Izabella was nominated for the SAMIEs (Sacramento Area Music Awards) and won Best of Sacramento, Editors’ Pick for Sacramento magazine.

Izabella At The Park And At Marilyn’s

Izabella is fresh from a fierce performance at Bobolink Music Festival and heading back to Sacramento. They will perform for a full day of soul infused dance tunes on July 9th, beginning at the Concert in the Park and continuing the party at Marilyn’s on K. The Marilyn’s show begins at 9PM and tickets are available for $8 or $5 with a Park bracelet.

Free Concerts In The Park

The schedule has been announced for the annual Friday night Concerts in the Park at Cesar Chavez Park. The free shows will run May 7th through August 13th, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. From their web site:

Music addicts and happy hour junkies fill up Cesar Chavez Plaza at 10th and J streets to enjoy live music, fresh air, good food, and the famous beer garden. Admission is FREE to this all ages show!

Izabella, 2Me Will Play The Palms

On Saturday, December 26th, Izabella will appear at the great local venue the Palms Playhouse in nearby Winters, CA. The show kicks off at 8:00 PM and the ticket price is $12. Local friends 2Me will start off the evening. A canned food drive is in the works to benefit a local non profit.

Izabella’s April release, Drugs & Apple Pie has been warmly received throughout the West. In addition to a solid studio presence, Izabella’s live performances are brimming with energy. Halloween weekend, the band set the bar at the 4^th annual Las Tortugas Festival.
