National recording star Jackie Greene returns to Marilyn’s on K. Jackie Greene has a commanding stage presence, and he plays every instrument he lays hands on (at one Marilyn’s performance he played several guitars, a pocketful of harmonicas, drums, keyboards …even a plywood box). He is one of those rare talents that embraces all aspects of a performance. He is both a poet and a songwriter (one person said to think Bob Dylan with a better voice). “Greene can write any damned thing he wants to and has the heart to pull it off,” wrote Thom Jurek of All Music Guide.
This show gives local fans a rare opportunity to enjoy the national star in an intimate setting. Marilyn’s is located on the K Street Mall between 9th and 10th (but closer to 9th).
