OK, so it’s not exactly music. But it’s still cool.
Save the date! On November 12th, 2011 it’s the (fourth) annual Swell Sister Art Show, with various types of art by members of the Swell Sister Society art group. This year the theme is “shifting light”. The free event is part of the city’s Second Saturday festivities and will be held at Shine, 1400 E Street in Sacramento, CA from 5 PM until 8PM.
Come out on November 12th and see some great art!
This weekend is the annual Sacramento Music Awards show and party. While some of us miss the days that it was held in the Crest Theater, there is also something to be said for a block party. Right? So go out and see some live music and see who wins the awards for the best Sacramento artists. You might find some comedy, a beer garden, and more there too. Lots of Sacramento’s musical talent will be there.

Like they did the last couple years, Hot Italian and Jerry Perry are presenting a series of free lunchtime shows at Fremont Park, 16th & Q streets. Here’s the schedule for this year:

6/16 – Walking Spanish
The free Friday Night Concerts are back, starting on May 6th! Same place as previous years, at Cesar Chavez Park at 10th and J Street, sponsored by the Downtown Sacramento Partnership. The shows run from 5 PM to 9 PM.

The free event is part of the city’s Second Saturday festivities and will be held at the Coffee Garden, 2904 Franklin Blvd in Sacramento, CA from 6 PM until 9 PM. Also featured: Little Treasures, affordable art for everyone, to benefit the Women’s Wisdom Project of the Sacramento Food Band and Family Services.
